If you have family, friends or neighbours with swimming pools, you can offer to clean them. Charge a small amount to scoop out the leaves and a little more to give it a good scrub.
Things like toffee apples, muffins, brownies and fudge are easy and fun to make. Package them in pretty wrapping and you’ve got a product to sell. Ask a grown-up to help you choose an easy, delicious recipe.
One of your household chores might be to mow the lawn, but why not ask your parents to help you make a list of people who might need help looking after their garden. You could even water flower beds and pull up weeds.
Rope in some friends to draw flyers for your neighbours telling them you’ll be washing cars. The flyer should have the date of your event and what it will cost. On the day, one person can splash the cars with water, another can sponge and someone else can collect the money.
Grown-ups often have to spend all day at work, so they may be too tired to walk their dogs when they get home. Sometimes their dogs are home alone all day too. Offer to walk some dogs for a small fee. That way, the dogs are happy and you can get some pocket money!
